Meant to Be
Uphill the incline of life,
Along the road of love,
We are meant to get hurt,
Because we are still learning.
We are learning to read signs,
Learning to watch for warning signals,
We learn that red flags do exist,
And some things would never work.
We learn where we should put efforts in,
When to expect things from people,
And when to walk away,
And although expectations do hurt,
We come to know that it’s human to expect and get attached,
But when things hit a dead end,
We learn how to shake off these attachments,
And leave away when we have to.
We learn to let go because we know,
That however much we love them,
Somethings can’t be changed,
And there is nothing else we can do,
But accept it and move on.
And the most difficult thing to learn,
And the most important of all,
Is how to go on in life
How to stand right up on our feet again,
And muster up all the hopes and good thoughts,
And once again, become a dreamer,
And dream of good things again,
Dream of a life that’s worth dedicating your lifetime for.
