Love, Lost?
Love, Lost?

Love, Lost?

Love, we came together to love,
To care about each other to our dying breath,
But have we forgotten that now,
Or have we lost that compassion?
Or worse, the love between us has gone away.

Because you wouldn’t overlook me if you still cared,
You wouldn’t stay indifferent to my pain,
When I hurt, you’d be there,
And hear me out when I explain.
Something has changed,
And it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

You used to listen, but now,
My words leave my mouth and meet the drain,
They don’t mean much to you anymore,
And I don’t know another way I could explain,
The storm that clouds my mind,
The drought in my soul that’s been craving rain.

I wish we could go back to simpler times,
When “I miss you” would mean that I want you to talk to me,
And when “I am sorry” would make you say it’s okay.
When I call your name, you would look at me,
When I smile at you, you would smile back,
When I speak my doubts, you would assure me,
And when I bare my heart out to you,
you would find it essential,
To listen,
To say what is needed to say,
And to give me a hug when I need it the most.

However, my voice goes unheard, my words invisible,
And the saddest part is,
You, of all people, should have listened,
And understood.
